Camron Enrique Acosta arrested in shooting death of Leon Lorenzo Dean Guerra

A homicide suspect in a Northglenn case, who was arrested Tuesday by Arvada police after a car crash on Kipling Street, is identified.

Camron Enrique Acosta, 18, is being held on investigation of first-degree murder for the shooting death of Leon Lorenzo Dean Guerra, according to a Northglenn Police Department news release.

Guerra was shot on Jan. 7, 2022, in the 1300 block of Regina Lane, police said, and was taken to a hospital where he later died. Guerra was 21 at the time.

An arrest warrant was recently issued in Adams County and Acosta was taken into custody on Tuesday in Arvada after being involved in a car crash on Kipling Street near Interstate 70 as he attempted to flee, Arvada police said.
