The chief law-enforcement officer for the US House of Representatives said Wednesday evening that the Capitol building is now secure.
The Hill’s Sergeant At Arms, who is responsible for maintaining order in the body of Congress, made the announcement — prompting applause to break out, according to a Huffington Post reporter in a tweet.
The news comes after hours of rioting –– and the storming of Congress, including infiltration of the House and some reps’ offices — by President Trump supporters challenging the outcome of the election.
