Colorado 7-Eleven robbery ends in police chase, gunshots – The Denver Post

A convenience store robbery ended in a police chase with a volley of gunshots between suspects and police officers Monday morning.

After midnight, Colorado Springs Police officers responded to a 7-Eleven robbery in the Old Colorado City neighborhood.

The report was an armed robbery in the 3000 Block of West Colorado Avenue.

Police officers later spotted the vehicle, a Toyota 4-Runner, a few blocks down Colorado at the intersection with 14th Street. Police say at least two officers fired one or more shots.

Police then chased the vehicle, whose occupants they say proceeded to shoot at officers multiple times.

A tactical team responded, and over eight miles away, the suspects’ vehicle was stopped at Chelton Road and Delta Drive.

Two suspects were taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. While two more suspects were taken into custody.

CSPD says their officers have been placed on administrative leave per policy.
