Dad of four kids killed in fire devastated he’ll never take them to football

After four young boys lost their lives in a devastating house fire in south London, their heartbroken dad has spoken of his sadness that he’ll never have the opportunity to take them to a football match.

Dalton Hoath, the father of the two sets of twins, said: "I’ll never get to take them to their first game. I’m devastated.”

"Their first football game was all they were talking about. Now I won’t be able to see them playing or watching football,” he said.

"It would have been passing down a tradition as the family have supported Wimbledon for years.

"They were bright, caring, loveable boys. I don’t know how I will carry on. It’s a miracle I haven’t lost the plot already."

Dalton’s dad, Jason, wrote on Facebook said that he was "devastated" to have to reveal that it was his grandchildren that had died in the Sutton fire.

"Kyson and Bryson, aged four, and Leyton and Logan, aged three, were taken too soon they will always be in our hearts and thoughts," he said.

The AFC Wimbledon worker said the four youngsters couldn’t wait for their first match.

Jason said: "Everyone was looking forward to Christmas and after the holidays in the New Year the boys were going to their first game. They loved playing football.

"We are all big Wimbledon fans and were going to take them there. I have some wonderful memories of us playing football in the summer with the boys in their England shirts as we watched the Euros. We had some lovely parties together."

Early reports suggest that the boys' mother, 27-year-old Deveca Rose, had not been in the house at the time of the fire and Jason says Dalton would have been "over in a shot" if he had known that the boys needed babysitting.

One neighbour told how she battled to save one of the youngsters by performing CPR for at least a minute until paramedics arrived.

A woman is currently being questioned by police.
