Denver police were involved in a shooting in the 1300 block of West Alameda Avenue Sunday afternoon, the police department said in a tweet.
It was not immediately clear whether any Denver police officers fired, if anyone was hurt or killed in the incident or how the shooting unfolded. The shooting prompted a significant police response in the area shortly before 3:30 p.m. Officers shut down roads in the area.
“This is an active scene,” the police tweet said at 3:38 p.m. A spokesman did not immediately return requests for comment and it was not clear if there was any ongoing threat to the public.
Alameda Avenue and South Lipan Street were closed, police said.
Additional information was not immediately available.
