Denver has been in a freeze since Tuesday, but that could break today and begin a warming trend for the area that lasts into next week.
According to the National Weather Service in Boulder, Denver will reach 34 degrees on Friday under sunny skies. Temperatures remained in the single digits early Friday morning. Strong winds are expected in the mountains later today with gusts up to 70 mph possible Friday night in the high country, leading to blowing snow. Denver will drop to a low of 18 degrees tonight.
Winds will reach Denver on Saturday, blowing up to 20 mph on what will be much warner day. Denver will hit 57 degrees, with plenty of sunshine. The overnight temperature will fall to 28 degrees.
Sunday could get over 60 degrees under partly sunny skies. This warm-up is expected to last until midweek when another storm system is forecast to move in.
