A DEVASTATED paramedic broke down in tears as he tried to save a teenage boy stabbed to death near a London park.

The heartbroken medic battled in vain for more than an hour to rescue the 15-year-old boy.

Police were called at 6.45pm to reports of a fight  near Stratford Park, East London on Tuesday.

The boy was found with fatal knife wounds as medics battled to save him.

Despite their efforts the unnamed victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The youngster was the capital's 94th murder victim this year.

Last night two women were arrested after two men were stabbed outside a west London shopping centre on Wednesday night.

The women have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following the attack outside the W12 shopping centre in Shepherd's Bush at 6.15pm.

The condition of the men remains unknown.

'I SAW HIM CRYING'

Neighbours described seeing a male paramedic crying after his team battled to save the youth's life.

A mother, 35, who wanted to remain anonymous said: "I only saw the boy collapse on to the floor, the paramedics arrived straight away. They tried their best for an hour but when they couldn't save him I saw one of them crying.

"It was very sad."

She added that the last time a stabbing happened in the local area they contacted the council asking for more CCTV cameras to be placed.

"But they haven't done anything since then so I'm guessing they won't do anything this time," she said.

A father of three, who has lived in the area for 30 years said: "It used to be a peaceful area but now it's become a terror to live in.

"I contacted my local councillor yesterday telling him of this brutal murder but, you see, police will come here one day and then leave the next day."

A letter he sent read: "There has been another brutal murder behind my house. Within a quarter of a mile there were three murders in the last 18 months as well as numerous stabbings. We are living in a state of terror and fear. Please use power and influence."

Another resident, who did not want to give their name, said: "They always hang around this area near that small patch of grass, they moved from Stratford Park and have gathered here."

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers, Scotland Yard said.

No arrests have been made and officers remained at the scene while an investigation led by the Met’s Specialist Crime was launched.

POST-MORTEM

A police statement added: "A post-mortem examination and formal identification will take place in due course."

The Metropolitan Police issued a Section 60 Criminal Justice and Public Order Act across the whole borough of Newham until 12:30pm today.

It allows officers increased stop-and-search powers as they try to track down the killer.

The killing is the latest in a series of violent deaths on London's streets this year.

There have been as many as 94 homicides – which includes murders and other unlawful killings – in the capital in 2019 alone.

Shocking figures revealed knife crime in England and Wales has soared to a record high, with 43,000 offences last year.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has pledged 20,000 new police officers across England and Wales over the next three years.

He has also promised to extended police stop and search powers to tackle the growing knife crime menace.
