Driver branded ‘crazy’ after loading huge amount of timber into tiny car

Shocked police officers pulled over an idiot driver in a tiny Volkswagen loaded with an "unbelievable" amount of timber that appeared to leave huge cracks in the windscreen of the vehicle.

Merseyside Police's Roads Policing unit arrested the driver in Liverpool on a busy bypass on Thursday.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and the car was taken away by cops because of its bad condition, police said on Twitter.

"Sighted travelling from Prescott [sic] Road along Knowsley Bypass. Driver had no view to left due to excessive loading of timber, also numerous cracks in the windscreen.

"Driver was arrested drug drive and vehicle seized for being in a Dangerous Condition," the unit tweeted.

An image with the tweet shows around 30 planks and beams of varying thickness hovering dangerously close to the windscreen.

The windscreen appears to have been hit by something, causing it to crack in several places.
