Terrorists may be experimenting with homemade drone bombs that could be used to blast British high streets or football stadiums, according to reports.
Military chiefs have reportedly been warned that twisted new technology could be employed once lockdown is over.
Some officials have privately been told that extremists could launch a commercial drone carrying a bomb into somewhere like Oxford Street, The Mirror reported.
New methods could mirror what has carried out by Iranian backed rebels in Yemen.
It’s feared that ISIS and al-Qaeda may copy the bomb-making protocols to launch an attack on British shores.
The Mirror reported that the Defence Intelligence, a wing of the Ministry of Defence, has been warned of the new Iranian sourced threat.
A source told the outlet: “It is only a matter of time before this new methodology is passed on to groups who have an interest in attacking Britain.
“The bombs can be detonated by infra-red triggers, primed so they attack a specific vehicle in a convoy or loaded on to a drone and flown into a crowd.”
A Ministry of Defence spokesman said: “Defence Intelligence keeps all potential threats under review to help protect the United Kingdom.”

The UK’s terrorism threat level was raised to ‘severe’ last year in the wake of a spate of gruesome attacks across Europe.
It meant that security chiefs believed an attack is highly likely – but there’s no specific evidence of anything imminent.
Priti Patel said as the warning was upped in November that Brits should be “alert, but not alarmed”.
She added at the time: “This is a precautionary measure following the horrific events of the last week in France and last night in Austria and is not based on a specific threat.
“As I've said before, we face a real and serious threat in the UK from terrorism.
"I would ask the public to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to the police.”
