BREAKING: Alex Scott now ‘pulls out of Football Focus’
Alex Scott had yesterday appeared to rule herself out of succeeding Gary Lineker as a future MOTD host.
The former Lioness has now reportedly pulled out of presenting Football Focus this afternoon, with Kelly Somers stepping in instead.
Scott has hosted the famous Saturday show since 2021.

Despite Gary Lineker’s name dominating the headlines, some may be unaware of how we got here in the first place, so let’s recap.
In a tweet earlier in the week, the former England striker compared the language used in the Government’s new asylum policy to that used by Germany in the 30s.
Lineker was then told to ‘step back’ from presenting duties after the BBC found he breached social media guidelines.
What unravelled next was sensational as his colleagues, including MOTD co-hosts Alan Shearer and Ian Wright, decided to boycott tonight’s show in solidarity.
MOTD is now facing a major crisis – and will only show match action without any presenters or pundits.

Last night, the MOTD star’s career was in serious jeopardy.
BBC bosses have told Lineker either to stop his politicised posts or give up working for the corporation.
Last night a senior source said: ‘It’s now up to Lineker – he needs to choose.’ Another well-placed insider described the presenters’ mutiny as a ‘proper BBC crisis’.
