Firefighters rushed to the rescue of a golden retriever after it got trapped in an icy pond.
The dog got stranded at Veterans Park in Avon, Ohio, the US on Monday afternoon, December 28.
It had wandered several feet from the shoreline and was struggling in the thin ice.
A police officer started to remove his shoes and socks and was about to dive into the water, News 5 Cleveland reports.
Two firefighters then donned Ice Commander Suits and braved the icy water.
The golden retriever was put in a fire engine to warm up and taken home by its relieved owners.
Earlier this month, more than a dozen golden retrievers were saved from almost-certain slaughter in China by kind-hearted volunteers.
The animals were given a second chance at life after more than £38,700 was raised to bring them to safety.
The furry playmates were given new homes just days before Christmas in Miami, the US.
A spokesperson for Golden Rescue South Florida said the four-legged friends would have been butchered and sold as dog meat if they hadn’t stepped in.

In heartwarming footage, the dogs were recorded with their tails wagging as they met their new owners.
Golden Rescue South Florida's website reads: "The good news and the bad. The good news….there are fewer and fewer goldens needing rescue in the US.
"The bad news…the plight of goldens around the world becomes more desperate every day.
"We were contacted by a rescue in China asking if we could help. Remember, they are not only neglected and abused. They are also butchered and eaten.
"So, our 'little' rescue has hiked up its 'big girl pants' and set out to rescue 20 goldens by bringing them to the US."
