Harry and Meghan made ‘£500,000 a minute’ since signing Spotify podcast deal

A publicity-shy pair who quit the monarchy for a new life in the US have earned an estimated £500,000 a minute from their verbal ramblings.

The couple have made just one podcast since signing a reported £18million deal with Spotify, which works out at half a million pounds so far.

When their Archewell Audio company launched on December 15 last year, the pair said it would "celebrate kindness and compassion".

A fortnight later they released a "collection of inspiration, reflection and perspective" from guests including James Corden, Sir Elton John and tennis star Naomi Osaka.

It was just over half an hour long, but since then it has been radio silence from Archewell.

The 37-year-old ex-squaddie has however done other podcasts including Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert where he said his life was like Jim Carrey film The Truman Show. And the couple did a TV chat with Oprah Winfrey when an unnamed royal was accused of racism.

The bashful 40-year-old former actress said they had to seek commercial deals after being financially cut off from the Royal Family.

Spotify had last night not responded to a request for a comment.
