Prince Harry is facing claims that he is trying to get Netflix to postpone his controversial fly-on-the-wall documentary until after Christmas so it is released at around the same time as his bombshell memoir.
The Duke of Sussex has been working on the series as part of his rumoured £88million deal with the streaming giant, but now wants the series delayed until next year, The Sun reports.
Hollywood news website Deadline previously said that ‘rattled’ Netflix bosses ‘blinked first’ and decided to push back the original December release date after the US company came under heavy criticism over its bombshell fifth series of royal drama The Crown.
But it is now claimed that Harry and Meghan’s Archewell Productions are driving efforts to delay the docuseries, following claims the couple want to make ‘extensive cuts’ to the programme.

The Sun claims that publishers of Harry’s memoir Spare, which was set to hit shelves at the same time as the show was screened on Netflix, have agreed to postpone its release until after January 10. The paper reported that the Duke needed to make last-minute changes to the book.
However, a source told The Sun last night: ‘Harry simply does not want it coming out before Christmas’.
It follows reports that the couple want to make edits to the series as they look to ‘downplay much of what they have said about King Charles III, Queen Consort Camilla, and the Prince and Princess of Wales’.
Insiders reportedly told US website Page Six that the couple are ‘having second thoughts’ on the project.
The series is a co-production between Netflix and Archewell Productions
‘Harry and Meghan are panicked about trying to tone down even the most basic language. But it’s their story, from their own mouths,’ one Netflix source told the website last month.
Another said: ‘They’ve made significant requests to walk back content they themselves have provided’.
One Hollywood industry source claimed the couple were facing doubts about the series following the Queen’s death.
