Hunt for criminal mental health facility escapee that public must not approach

Police are appealing to members of the public for any information on the whereabouts of a man who has escaped from a mental health facility.

James Manley, 48, was last spotted in Victoria Park, London, at 11:15am yesterday, and police are frantically attempting to track down the escaped criminal.

The 48-year-old had been convicted of a robbery two years ago and was detained under the Mental Health Act following his conviction.

The escaped criminal is believed to have travelled through Waterloo Station yesterday afternoon, with his last known sighting coming from Victoria Park, six miles away from the station.

Manley has been described as a man of large build and bald with lots of scars on the top of his head.

The escapee was last seen at Victoria Park, where police say he was wearing a black jacket, white trainers, grey shorts, black t-shirt and glasses.

Police have advised the public not to approach Manley, who has recently escaped from a mental health facility, and instead members of the public are advised to call 999 immediately.

If spotted, members of the public are asked to contact police and quote CAD 2982/08June as a point of police reference.
