I quit my Amazon warehouse job after getting injured because we were forced to STAND all day and lift heavy boxes

AN AMAZON worker quit her warehouse job because the company allegedly forced her to stand and lift heavy boxes all day without taking a break.

The former Amazon employee, from Connecticut, claimed that even when she was tired, she wasn’t allowed to sit down, which caused her to suffer an injury that left her leg bruised while at work.

“It was modern slavery,” the 22-year-old exclusively told The Sun.

She added: “They put a lot of pressure on you to work fast and yell at you if you sit down.

“I was picking up a heavy box and I was tired. The box fell on my leg and bruised my right shin.”

The ex-employee said they would check her leg out but never wanted her to go to human resources because “they didn’t want to deal with that liability.”

In addition to getting written up if she sat down, she got into major trouble if management saw her cellphone out.

“If you get written up six times, you’re fired,” she said. “It was a joke, I was already written up four times when I left.”

The employee, who parted ways with Amazon in August 2021, said the company would create contests within the warehouse to see who could work fastest and award those workers with points for prizes.

“They would say, ‘Let’s see who can go the fastest within the next hour,’ and award that person with a free water bottle and items like that.”

Amazon did not immediately respond to The Sun's request for comment.

'BASICALLY A PRISON'

That wouldn't be the first time an Amazon worker complained of competitive work "games" to speed up production.

Another former Amazon warehouse worker revealed the twisted “game” the company tells employees to play to speed up production, creating a “prison-like” environment.

The games were based on meeting warehouse achievements and workers were rewarded with points to redeem prizes such as Amazon T-shirts, according to the former employee’s TikTok video.

In a different video on the account, the worker said employees got power-ups like “boost” that could be used when “you 1v1 (one on one) your coworkers.”

The boost was earned by “playing the games” and points were earned by scanning items in the warehouse.

The TikToker admitted that the games were exciting at first because she had to work 12-hour shifts and the competition “made the days go by fast.”

Some of the different achievements included: login to FC Games for 100 days, using a boost 10 times, getting a fast start 10 times, and pick one million units.
