A new image showing the inside of the UK's possible answer to Disneyland has been shared for the first time.
The London Resort, which is now set to open in 2025, is set to be approved by the Government at some point this year, having submitted a 25,000-page proposal for the ambitious project at the end of 2020.
Taking on Twitter for the first time since October 2021, the London Resort shared an artists impression of what the inside of the venue – which will be as big as 136 Wembley Stadiums – will look like.
Located in Kent, and sometimes referred to as "Paramount Kent", it looks very much Game of Thrones-themed, where roller-coasters weave in and out of a giant castle, which has a fire breathing dragon on top.
There are also, what appear to be rivers of lava coming out of various parts of the castle, as hoards of visitors walk around.
The image was accompanied by a new "work in progress" list for the year ahead.
They tweeted: "Revise opening date to 2025.
"Partner with dynamic and visionary IP (intellectual property) brands.
"Continue designing cutting edge unique experiences.
"Appreciate all the support."
And, possibly hinting at the overall theme of the part, they tweeted "beware 'hic sunt dracones'" which means "here be dragons" in Latin.
When complete, it will be three times larger than any other park in the UK – spanned across 535 acres.
Around 70% of the attractions will be undercover to cope with the unpredictable English weather.
It plans to be the first operationally carbon neutral theme park, will deliver a net biodiversity gain and will create a green network of amenity areas and parkland to include areas of environmental enhancement and wildlife habitat creation beside the River Thames for local residents and resort guests.
If the plans are approved, it will be the first European development of its kind to be built from scratch since the opening of Disneyland Paris in 1992.
It was due to open in 2024, but because of complaints from Natural England, which listed it as a “Site of Special Scientific Interest”, it has now been delayed until 2025.
