AS Storm Arwen continues to batter the UK, ITV have made the decision to cancel the weekend episodes of I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!
The stars have been evacuated from the castle and returned to quarantine.
Is I'm a Celebrity on tonight?
I’m a Celeb will not air on Sunday November 28, due to Storm Arwen.
Instead, ITV will play two “best of” shows to fill the prime-time 9pm slots.
The celebrities were removed from Gwrych Castle in North Wales, and only essential crew remain on site.
On Saturday November 27, the Sun revealed that the decision was made in a bid to speed up the show's return to the airwaves after this weekend's episodes were cancelled.
A source told us: "This move has been taken in a bid to speed up the show’s return to the screen. Everyone is committed to getting it back on screen as fast as possible.
"As part of that they’ve decided to take the celebrities out and put them back into quarantine like they were before they went into the castle.
"Once the site is all safe and ready to film again then they’ll return.”
Why was I'm a Celebrity cancelled last night?
I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! was cancelled last night and has been cancelled tonight due to the adverse weather conditions.
ITV said the production base suffered significant damage as Storm Arwen battered the area on Friday night.
A spokesperson said: “Owing to technical difficulties caused by extreme weather conditions in the area, there will be no new episodes of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! this weekend (Saturday and Sunday).
“I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! will be replaced tonight and tomorrow night in the ITV schedules by compilation shows (voiced by Ant & Dec) featuring best moments from previous series.”
How long will I'm a Celebrity be off-air for?
Following ITV’s announcement that Saturday and Sunday’s episodes are cancelled, the measures are being extended until at least Monday.
Unlike Friday’s episode, in which the previous night’s events were broadcast, tonight’s episode will just be a compilation of highlights from previous series.
It will mark the first time an episode of I’m a Celebrity has been pulled in its 19-year history.
Sunday night’s episode will also show highlights.
