A pair of jet skiers were catapulted into the air after their vehicles were involved in a head-on collision in the water.

Footage captured along a river in Ottawa, Ontario, shows the two water sports enthusiasts launch their Sea-Doo jet ski’s towards each other as their friends watch on from a nearby boat on May 22.

Just moments later, the jet skiers crash into each other head-on and are sent flying into the air as one of their friends shouts: ‘Oh my god!’

No one was injured during the incident, according to the filmer.

During the clip, the two jet skiers race their vehicles towards each as one of their friend’s excitedly shouts: ‘It’s coming! Here we go!’

However the pair soon find themselves colliding into each other and are flung into the sea as their friends gasp in horror.

The filmer later said: ‘We’ve seen this trend online a bunch so figured we would try it.’

They added: ‘Luckily no one was injured and the only casualty was a Sea-Doo.’

In 2015, two jet skiers narrowly avoided a collision along a river in Cancun, Mexico.

Footage filmed by Alejandro Bouvier showed another rider swing their jet ski towards him and drive directly in his path before the pair swiftly steered their vehicles away from each other. 

Commenting on the incident, Mr Bouvier later told Grind TV: ‘Actually, I was more concerned about the cost of the jet skis than our injuries, but after thinking about it, I believe it could [have resulted] in really bad injuries, if not death.’
