Kerry Katona fails to attend court for driving offences after being handed penalty points
- Convicted in 2019 of failing to identify suspected driving offender to police
- Failed to attend court today to make application for ‘statutory declaration’
Former Atomic Kitten star Kerry Katona failed to turn up to court today over a driving offence, four years after she was fined for not identifying a suspected offender.
Katona was convicted in March 2019 of failing to give police the identify a Nissan X-Trail driver who was allegedly guilty of an offence in Ripley, Derbyshire, in 2018.
The 42-year-old, of Alderley Edge, Cheshire, was at the time fined more than £800, as well as a £66 victim surcharge, £85 costs and given six points on her licence.
Today, Katona was expected to attend Manchester Magistrates’ Court to make an application for an unspecified ‘statutory declaration’.

A statutory declaration is a formal statement declaring something is true to the best knowledge of the person making it. It is unknown what her statement was regarding.
But Katona not attend court and failed to provide an explanation why, resulting in the application being dismissed by magistrates.
Also today, Katona was spotted in Alderley Edge wearing a Burberry trench coat and carrying a Louis Vuitton handbag after having a meeting in a restaurant.
Katona was a member of the popular girl band Atomic Kitten from 1998 but left in 2001. She then rejoined the group in 2012 before leaving again in 2017.
