A top Russian general plans to “throw” the war against Ukraine, leaked documents from the White House claim.

Pentagon intelligence claims the Kremlin is conspiring to launch plans while President Vladimir Putin is in chemotherapy.

A photograph of the classified documents was leaked onto Discord last week, later appearing on both Telegram and Twitter.

It's understood that the document was photographed before being removed from a secure location, as reported by Vice.

The document contained information about troop movements, casualties in Ukraine, intelligence briefings, and various other pieces of information from a range of sources.

It also suggested Russian National Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev and Russian Chief of the General Staff Valeriy Gerasimov are conspiring to “throw” Putin's plans.

The documents attribute the origin of the unconfirmed rumour to a Ukrainian official who, according to the documents, has a source with access to Kremlin officials.

The publication explained that the document is written using a string of shorthand, for example, the top of the note about Russia “throwing the war” is TS//SI//REL TO USA, FVEY/FISA.

The top secret document was collected by the US and other “Five Eyes” countries – Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and the United Kingdom.

“According to the [source], who received the information from an unidentified Russian source with access to Kremlin officials, Russia planned to divert resources from the Taganrog, Russia to Mariupol, Ukraine and focus its attention on the southern front,” the memo said.

“According to [the source], the plan for ‘the offensive’… was suspected to be a strategy devised by Russian National Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev and Russian Chief of the General Staff Valeriy Gerasimov to sabotage Putin.”

Prior to the leak Ukraine had planned to go on a counter-offensive against Russia, but as some of the details were in the report, they have been forced to alter their plans.

The document also referenced long-standing rumours over Putin's health.

It said: “[The source] on 22 February indicated that Gerasimov reportedly planned to continue his efforts to sabotage the offensive, noting that he promised to ‘throw’ the so-called special military operation by 5 March, when Putin was allegedly scheduled to start a round of chemotherapy and would thus be unable to influence the war effort.”

The 70-year-old leader has been rumoured to have had several different health issues previously, ranging from dementia to various forms of cancer – however, these have all been denied by authorities.
