Man arrested for murder after OAP, 86, suffers fatal head injury at home in north London

A MAN has been arrested after an OAP suffered a fatal head injury at a home in north London.

The 86-year-old was last night pronounced dead at the scene in Southgate.

Police and paramedics rushed to Chelmsford Road at 9.41pm to reports of a disturbance.

Officers found an elderly man suffering a serious head injury, and he was declared deceased a short time later.

A 53-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder.

Cops believe the two men knew each other.

Murder detectives are investigating and a crime scene remains in place.

A post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course.
