Man seeks refuge in pub after he’s stabbed during 1am ‘mass brawl’ in car park

A man was stabbed in a car park yesterday (July 3) and sought refuge in a nearby pub.

The unnamed 21-year-old suffered horrendous, but not life-threatening injuries in the car park of the Perry Hill Tavern in Oldbury in the West Midlands.

Police arrested five man for the crime, which ended up with pub staff having to call an ambulance for him.

A spokesman for the pub told local news that the incident had “nothing to do with them”.

Another man also suffered injuries during the attack, but it is not known what his involvement with the attack was.

According to local reports, the incident was sparked by a “mass brawl”, which saw the pub and its car park closed off with police tape.

A local resident said that it looked like “CSI” had been there.

They explained: “A mass brawl happened early this morning ending with ambulances taking away what appeared to be a casualty of the violence.

“Police have now taped off the [area] with forensics examining the car park. It looks like CSI.”

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "We were called by paramedics to Perry Hill Road in Oldbury at around 1.10am after a man was stabbed on a pub car park.

“The 21-year-old man suffered injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.

“He sought refuge in the pub where staff called for an ambulance.

“A second man suffered less serious injuries in the disturbance on the car park.

“Five other men have been arrested on suspicion of wounding and remain in custody.”
