Prince Charles was completely unable to understand Meghan Markle’s toxic relationship with her dad, according to a biographer.
Meghan's father-daughter rift could have left even tested the Queen's patience, Tom Bower claims in his new book.
Charles was “bewildered” and "never really understood her or what she wanted" regarding the American actress' attitude towards Thomas Markle, Bower claims.

After a week when Markle Snr has made several TV appearances criticising his daughter and the Royal Family, an exasperated Prince of Wales asked his son: “Can’t she just go and see him and make this stop?”
Prince Harry, Bower claims, made up a series of excuses for Meghan’s failure to prevent her father’s outbursts.
He said that Mr Markle’s phone was “not in his possession,” and that his email account was not secure.
“Meghan’s excuses irritated Charles and perhaps also the Queen,” Bower says.
“The monarch must have found it hard to believe that Meghan could not resolve her differences with Thomas Markle," he writes in his new book Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors.
"She joined Charles in a conference call with Meghan and Harry. At the outset, Charles and his mother urged Meghan to fly to America for a reconciliation”.

No reconciliation took place, even though Meghan later said: “I was especially sensitive to this as I had very recently married into the family and was eager to please them.”
But she complained that the other royals “fundamentally don’t understand” her family situation.
Meghan’s father Thomas and her half-sister Samantha continued to be loose cannons, accepting interview after interview in which they aired their family’s dirty laundry in public – something that the deeply traditional royals could neither understand or accept.
Not only Harry’s family, but his friends struggled to understand Meghan’s very different culture and values.

After a meeting with the young prince’s rowdy Eton mates, she was accused by some of them of acting “princessy” and not being interested enough in them or their numerous in-jokes.
“Beyond Harry’s hearing, some friends questioned Meghan’s “wokery,” Bower writes: “Meghan was a dampener on the party, they concluded. She lacked any sense of humour. Driving home after Sunday lunch, the texts pinged between the cars: ‘OMG what about HER?’ said one; ‘Harry must be f***ing nuts’.”
The Daily Star asked representatives of both Her Majesty the Queen and the Duke of Duchess of Sussex for a comment on Bower's claims, but we have not received a reply.
Tom Bower’s Book, Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors, will be published by Blink Publishing, on July 21 at £22.
