More thunderstorms possible Tuesday afternoon in Denver metro area

Denverites could be in for another wet day as chances of rain showers continue on and off through Tuesday afternoon, leading to a possible thunderstorm or two in the afternoon before clearing out in the evening.

The rain will also keep temperatures relatively cool, with a high of only 75 degrees and a low of 58 degrees.

One to two inches of rain fell across the Denver area Monday night causing some flooding, with the highest rainfall total reported by the National Weather Service in southern Aurora with 2.64 inches, but Tuesday’s flood possibilities are mostly south of the Denver area.

There is a 40% chance of precipitation throughout the day, and a 30% chance for those evening thunderstorms, mainly before 7 p.m.

After that, the clouds will mostly clear out. As the Denver metro area dries out, patchy fog could develop across the area.

The rainy weather could potentially last longer this week, though, as Wednesday has a 20% chance of rain most of the day.
