A mum has unveiled a canny trick to feed her 12 children when he can’t face plating up a dozen individual meals. Alicia Dougherty posted her unique solution on TikTok, which was met with torrents of responses as social media lit up.
The red-haired mum demonstrated her “nacho pool” technique, in which she filled a 135-litre paddling pool with the Tex-Mex staple for her children to tuck into.
The New Yorker’s culinary creativity has drawn 1.9 million views on TikTok with commenters stunned.
One user wrote: “That’s the best non-pool use for a pool ever.”
Another simply said: “Oooo to be one of your kids”
A third added: “Everyone’s so creative!”
However, not everyone was impressed with Alicia’s chip-and-dip exploits.
One TikTok user jibed: “This looks straight out of extreme cheap skates.”
Someone else questioned: “And how much of that did go to waste?”
The video shows a tie-dye-clad Alicia pouring nine giant sharing bags of nachos into the paddling pool, before adding a layer of minced beef, melted cheese, an entire bottle of salsa, and then topping it off with yet more cheese.
Adding to the calorific concoction she throws over three bags of shredded lettuce, two tins of black olives and a whole punnet of tomatoes.
Nachos wouldn’t be complete without copious amounts of soured cream and Alicia wasn’t about to leave the essential ingredient by the wayside, adding two whole bottles to the mixture.
She captioned the video: “Nacho pool for my 12 kids.”
The US mum regularly shares videos on the social media platform about day-to-day life looking after a dozen children, amassing 6 million followers.
