Prince William was "nervous" during his appearance at the State Opening of Parliament today alongside his "comfortable" father Prince Charles, according to a body language expert.
The Duke of Cambridge joined his father Prince Charles at Westminster to stand in for the Queen after a last minute decision for her to miss the annual event.
William arrived for his first ever State Opening of Parliament around five minutes before the future King.
The King-in-waiting delivered a nine-minute speech on behalf of her Majesty as William sat beside him.
Dody language expert Adrianne Carter, also know as The Face Whisperer, analysed William, Charles and Camilla's demeanours during the momentous event.
Speaking to the Daily Star, she said: "Charles looks like he's been ready to do this for a long time and is very natural and comfortable.
"Camilla and William looks more nervous by the way they're holding themselves and their posture.
"William keeps his head bowed a lot, which is a submissive way of being."
The expert added that she believed Prince William was feeling "the weight of the occasion".

"H's not always as confident at 'officialdom' as he is when interacting with real people," she said.
Some royal fans had a negative reaction to Prince Charles' speech, with many rudely claiming he was "boring" and "insincere".
It is the first time a member of the Royal Family has delivered a speech on behalf of her Majesty.
"At least sound a little interested," said one royal fan.

Another disgruntled commenter wrote: "Anyone else getting the impression that the Prince Charles really can't be arsed reading the #QueensSpeech and is just going through the motions?"
A third said: "Prince Charles looks bored, rigid and oozes insincerity."
"I'm falling asleep listening to Prince Charles. An endless drone," said another.
