Nine-year-old girl savaged by dog who attacked her ‘like a shark’

A dad has shared his horror after a dog savaged his nine-year-old daughter "like a shark" during an Easter Egg hunt in a park.

The dad said that his kids had been searching for Easter eggs in Bushy Park in Hampton when the dog emerged from the woods and attacked his daughter.

"I don’t know how my daughter survived it if I’m honest," he told Richmond and Twickenham Times.

"It was like a shark attack, I’m amazed she didn’t lose her arm. As a parent, I’ve been having flashbacks and waking up in cold sweats reliving it."

Police arrived at the scene at 5.44pm on April 4 to find the mother and daughter suffering from deep bite wounds.

The dog that was off the lead had also bitten the girl's 10-year-old brother on the arm.

The father was also at the by was unharmed.

"I saw it in slow motion. She panicked and the dog went into a frenzy and went for her.

"My wife got in between my daughter and the dog and took a tooth through her hand. I tried to get the dog off by kicking it but it then chased my son."

After savaging the little girl and her mum, the owner of the dog finally caught up with it.
