A paedophile pensioner who was released from prison earlier this year is now back behind bars after being caught giving sweets to kids.
Kenneth Pybus, 75, was given a five-year sentence in 2019 for child sex offences. He was also made subject to a sexual harm prevention order and banned from having unsupervised contact with children.
Pybus was released on licence in February this year and moved to Sacriston, County Durham, where he was monitored by police, reports ChronicleLive.

He was eventually arrested again after police became aware he'd been speaking to children. He'd also given them sweets and dog treats in order to "establish relationships".
On Wednesday (December 21), he appeared at Durham Crown Court via video link from HMP Durham to be sentenced for two counts of breaching his sexual harm prevention order. He had pleaded guilty to the offences.
Peter Sabiston, prosecuting, said Pybus told police in July that he had been talking to an adult neighbour when a child shouted "hello" to him in the street.
The officers then told Pybus he mustn't have contact, but when they returned later that month he told them he knew the names of two children in the area. He was then arrested.
Mr Sabiston said: "A guardian of the children noted that in the summer, she saw the defendant at a friend's door whilst children were playing and he said 'hello'.
"Later she allowed the children to play in the street and the defendant had given them sweets and dog treats."
The court heard that those in the area were unaware of Pybus' previous convictions and when they were approached by police, they said he regularly spoke to children and were "concerned about his motivations" after finding out about his sex offending.
Mr Sabiston added that, in his police interview, Pybus accepted he spoke to children and said they had taken sweets from him rather than him giving sweets to them.
He accepted that he also gave dog treats to a child.
Vic Laffey, defending, said: "He feels he's let down everyone within the system. He speaks in glowing terms of the probation service and the help they have given him."
Sentencing him, Recorder Edward Legard said Pybus carried out "classic grooming techniques by giving sweets and dog treats in order to establish relationships".
Pybus was given a 14-month prison sentence.
