Prince Harry may never want to return to the UK again after looking "numb and regretful" following his explosive Oprah Winfrey interview, an expert claimed.
Duncan Larcombe, author of Prince Harry: The Inside Story, previously said the Duke of Sussex will live to "regret that interview – and maybe his decision to leave the Royal Family."
The expert, who spent ten years as a royal editor, spoke to Closer magazine last year about the prince and claimed he appeared "nostalgic for his old life".
Prince Harry has only visited the UK twice since leaving for the US in January 2020.
He said Harry once had a history of being "hot-headed" and used the tell-all interview to air frustrations from his wife's experience with the Royal Family.
The expert said: "After returning home, I've no doubt he's been feeling embarrassed, regretful and awkward.
"He's now facing the consequences. I believe he'll regret that interview – and maybe his decision to leave the Royal Family."
He added: “I’ve heard Harry was feeling numb heading back to LA.
"You could see in his face at the funeral (Prince Philip's funeral) that he was torn. He didn’t think he’d have to face his family so soon – and when he did, he had mixed emotions."

Meghan Markle showed that Prince Harry 's time as her mentor and protector was over with a subtle hand gesture, a body language expert has claimed.
The Duke of Sussex guided Meghan through life as a royal in the early days of their relationship.
But body language expert Judi James has claimed that a subtle hand gesture from the Duchess showed Harry that the "tide has changed" in their relationship, the Mirror reports.
The moment came during the couple's infamous interview with Oprah Winfrey as they sat side by side on garden chairs and opened up about their life in the Royal Family.
Meghan made damning accusations of racism and claimed Kate Middleton made her cry, while Harry claimed his father had cut him off financially and Prince William was "trapped".
Judi told The Mirror that Meghan's hand gestures showed she was confident and self assured, while Harry was showing the need for his wife's support.
She said: "I think when Meghan came to the UK, Harry very much saw himself in the role of overly protective husband that knew that all hell was going to break lose in terms of press and public interest, and was desperate to protect her – albeit that she presented herself as a very confident woman."
Representatives for the Sussexes have been contacted for comment.
