Former Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been dealt a brutal snub by the Queen after she left him out of a congratulatory Instagram post dedicated to new leader Liz Truss.
The post shared what appeared to be a highlights reel of some of the most noteworthy PMs to pass through 10 Downing Street during the Queen’s reign, and Bo Jo didn’t feature.
The Queen welcomed Liz Truss today to make her newly-won position of Prime Minister official.

Truss beat rival Rishi Sunak in the Tory leadership race by securing 57% of the vote, clearing the way for her to take the UK’s top job.
Ahead of Truss’ visit the official Royal Family Instagram account posted the photos with the caption: “Later today, The Queen will receive Liz Truss at Balmoral Castle to formalise her new position as Prime Minister.
“Ms. Truss is the 15th Prime Minister to serve during Her Majesty’s reign. The first was Winston Churchill in 1952."
There was no reference made to outgoing PM Johnson, who had led the country since 2019, received no mention.
Then, to add insult to injury, below the main text the Firm included six further sentences, one for each of the six images in the reel.

It read: “1/ With Winston Churchill at the Commonwealth Economic Conference in 1952.
“2/ With Edward Heath at a ‘Fanfare for Europe’ gala in 1973.
“3/ With James Callaghan, Lord Home, Margaret Thatcher, Lord Stockton, Lord Wilson and Edward Heath in 1984.
“4/ With Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan during the American State Visit in 1984.
“5/ With Tony Blair following his re-election as Prime Minister in 2005.
“6/ With Theresa May on her appointment as Prime Minister in 2016.”

While US president Ronald Reagan featured and former Tory PM Edward Heath made the list twice, Johnson was nowhere to be seen.
The outgoing PM has been at the forefront of British politics for the last three years which have seen huge changes in the UK.
He was at the wheel throughout Covid, the Brexit negotiations, Russia’s Invasion of Ukraine and the death of the Queen’s husband Prince Philip.
But despite all this, Johnson has also spent huge amounts of his time in charge under controversial circumstances.
He has come under fire for the infamous Partygate scandal, taking badly timed holidays, misleading and confusing speeches, having badly behaved ministers, resigning advisors, breaking his own rules, the evacuation of Afghanistan and lavish flat refurbs to name a few.
