Shocking moment high school runner leading race is sucker-punched in the head by another athlete who ran onto the track and chased him down

- The athlete who threw the punch had earlier got in the way of the lead runner
- After still obscuring the track, the runner pushed him out of the way
- On the subsequent lap, the black athlete sucker punched the runner the face, knocking him over – he managed to get to his feet and complete the race
- Police were called although it is not known if charges were filed
It seemed to be the weekend for getting hit in the face!
A high school athlete was sucker punched as he was in the middle of a running race around a track at the Tohopekaliga Tiger Invitational in Kissimmee, Florida.
Just as the pack were coming down the straight portion of the track in the middle of a 1,600-meter race, another athlete who was not taking part in the competition made a beeline straight for the runner who was leading.

The black man, who also dressed in running shorts and a t-shirt, appeared to come out of nowhere and caught the runner dressed in white and red by surprise as he sprinted over from the center field.
The punch was so hard, it threw the leading runner off balance and saw him floored leaving him collapsed in a heap in at the side of the track as other runners ran around him as the race continued.
In the stands, spectators supporting the athletes from 27 schools competing in the invitational, were floored by what they had just witnessed.
‘Are you f***ing kidding me?!’ one person could be heard saying repeatedly while others simply screamed in horror.
TMZ notes that the man who threw the punch was not taking part in the 1,600m race but had earlier been told by the runner who was punched to move out of the way.
Instead of moving, the during the following lap, which was not caught on video, the leading running then pushed the black athlete out of the way knocking him over after he deliv=berately got in the way.
In the the subsequent lap of the track, the black athlete sought immediate revenge, chased him along the track and punched him in the head.
Canadian Running Magazine says that police were called although it is not known if charges were filed.
The runner who was hit, did manage to finish the race.
