The son of a man who was bludgeoned to death has been found guilty of his murder after being found naked and surrounded by 100 blood-stained bottles of Champagne.
Deekan Singh Vig, 54, was found guilty of murdering his father Arjan Singh Vig, 86, at their family home in north London.
Police officers attended the scene to find Arjan Singh Vig, an elderly shopkeeper, lying non-responsive on the floor of his son’s bedroom with severe head injuries.

Initially, Deekan Singh Vig, who was naked and surrounded by his murder weapons, would not open the door to police because he said his father had “been dead for an hour”.
Vig admitted: “I killed my dad. I hit him over the head with a f***ing bloody bottle of Bollinger Champagne.”
Vig pled guilty to manslaughter claiming in court that he had autism and that his father had initially attacked him.
However a jury found him guilty of murder and he now awaits sentencing in February.
Vig had been living with his father and 85-year-old mother in their family home for nearly 40 years.

Mr and Mrs Vig were both at home on the evening that the murder took place back in October 2021.
While watching television, Mrs Vig heard vomiting sounds coming from her son’s room.
Deekan told his mother that he’d drunk half a bottle of whisky, after developing an alcohol habit during lockdown.
The alcohol came from his stash of 10 Amazon delivery boxes of whisky, 100 bottles of Champagne, and an empty bottle of Talisker Scotch.

Mr Vig confronted his son about his behaviour, which led to the altercation.
Mrs Vig rang her daughter who lives separated describing Deekan as “drunk” and “out of control”.
The situation became so aggressive that Mrs Vig decided to call the police, which is when they discovered Deekan naked.
Speaking after the incident Deekan said: “Oh s***. I killed my dad. He could have just died from a heart attack. I f***ing his him with a bottle of f***ing Champagne…I hate French Champagne.”
