Stalker posted bikini pics of ex online in chilling ‘destroy you’ threat

An obsessed stalker carried out a horrifying campaign against a former partner of 20 years.

Marine engineer Jason Moore, 51, carried out persistent harassment and made his victim’s life a misery – as well as being highly abusive.

Hull Crown Court heard how he told the woman: "Did you really think I would back down?" and, "I will show you harassment."

Moore, of Sutton Park, Hull, he admitted he had stalked the woman between November 5 and January 8 and had assaulted her.

The long-term relationship had become “toxic,” according to Nathan Davis, prosecuting, who added that it had come to an end in 2019, the Hull Daily Mail reports.

Moore had allegedly become jealous of her spending time with other men and was angry and violent.

At one stage, the woman is understood to have been at a local pub with her family when Moore came in, unwanted.

They left following this development, but he became angry and posted an image of her in a bikini.

When she asked him to take it down he refused and warned that future pestering on the matter would lead to him posting a picture of her naked in bed.

Another occasion saw him call her an insulting name and added: "Did you really think I would back down?"

He told her: "I am going to destroy you where it hurts" and "I will show you harassment."

On November 19, at the local pub, he even pushed her into another person and on December 8 made unwanted phone calls that included him making threats about getting the woman and her sister "done for fraud".

On January 8, he followed her to the pub and sat opposite, refusing to leave.

The woman is understood to have been suffering from anxiety and said of the saga: "This has caused me to be more socially reclusive."

Mr Davis said: "She wants him to leave her alone and to leave her family alone”.

Mitigating, Oliver Shipley, said: “The relationship of some 20 years has clearly broken down in very unfortunate and regrettable circumstances," and added Moore had been in custody for around five months.

"He knows his handling of the situation has only made matters worse. There was some extremely immature behaviour. On some of the occasions, they were in two-way communication but it fell away at the time of the offences."

He was given 10 months but his time served meant that he is due to be released shortly. He has also been slapped with a 10-year restraining order.

Judge John Thackray KC told Moore: "This was appalling conduct over a number of months. It's more serious because it was within a domestic context.

“You continued your behaviour over and over again and there is no doubt that it had a significant effect on your former partner."
