Teenage boy stabbed to death on London football pitch in broad daylight

A male thought to be in his teens has been stabbed to death in broad daylight in south west London.

Police were called to a football pitch on Craneford Way, Twickenham, at 4.45pm yesterday.

Officers rushed to the scene with the London Ambulance Service, and said that the victim sustained serious knife wounds.

He was rushed by ambulance to hospital and tragically pronounced dead at 5.54pm

The police have said that they are trying to find and inform his next of kin, and that no arrests have been made at this stage.

The scene of the crime remains cordoned by police tape as they continue to investigate the area.

The area itself is an expensive suburb, with the average house price on Craneford Way nearing £700,000.

The playing fields are close to Richmond College and overlooked by houses.
