The Texas mom who cared for the 4-year-old boy found dead a Dallas street gave a tearful blow by blow of how the horrifying kidnapping unfolded, according to a report.

Monica Sherrod, 35, the ex-girlfriend of little Cash Gernon’s father, invited a Daily Mail reporter into the bedroom where the tot was snatched from his bed in the dead of night, as his twin brother Carter slept by him — before reviewing chilling surveillance video of the abduction.

“I loved those boys. They were not even my biological boys. I brought them into my home. I had made this room for them,” Sherrod told the outlet on Tuesday, bursting into tears.

“I haven’t touched a thing,” she said while standing near Cash’s small white bed.

She glanced around the room — which showed toys scattered about and the toddler bed the twins shared left unmade — saying, “I just couldn’t face this before, the pain is so deep.”

Sherrod also played the chilling surveillance footage which captured 18-year-old Darriynn Brown allegedly kidnapping Cash early Saturday morning.

“It’s breaking my heart, but I know I have to confront this,” she told the Daily Mail between sobs. “He took him at 4:58 a.m. That’s the time that he took Cash. And he came back for Carter. I can’t really watch it.”

“It shows [Brown] taking the blanket off Cash and shows him snatching him and running with him while he is still asleep,” she explained.

Brown, a family acquaintance, allegedly used a broken back door leading to the garage to enter to the home on Saturday, she told the outlet.

“The kidnapper broke in through that door right there. The garage doesn’t latch,” Sherrod explained. “He came in and broke the connecting door into the home. We are on the other side of the house, we didn’t hear anything. We were all sleeping.”

The twin tots are the sons of Sherrod’s ex-boyfriend, Trevor Gernon, 31, who moved into her home before taking off in March — and leaving her with the children, she said. She has four other children.

Sherrod said the boys slept together in the back of the six-bedroom house because “I didn’t want them alone, I wanted them together.”

In the footage, she said Brown “stares at [Cash] for a minute. I have watched it over and over again. I can’t watch it anymore.”

Brown was then allegedly caught on camera returning to the room two hours later in an apparent effort to abduct the other boy — but got spooked and fled empty-handed, she said.

“It’s on video. He came back a second time, at around 7:30 a.m.,” Sherrod added. “He came back for Carter but was scared off by something. You can see him on the video running out, like he is startled.”

Brown first visited Sherrod’s home a couple days before the fatal kidnapping while she was out shopping, she said.

“I told him, ‘Don’t come back around my kids,’” she said. “I was out grocery shopping when he was here. I’d left the twins with my boys and daughter.”

Brown was arrested in connection to the murder of Cash, whose body was found dumped in a street in southwest Dallas.

Police said he suffered “multiple wounds” inflicted with what police describe as an “edged weapon.”

Brown is charged with kidnapping and theft and held on $750,000.
