THERESA May declared that Britain plans to make a clean break from all of the EU’s institutions – as she laid down the gauntlet for a hard Brexit in the biggest speech of her career this morning.
After six months of painstaking deliberations, the Prime Minister finally spelled out a list of 12 negotiating demands for our departure from Brussels.
She delivered an address at Lancaster House which fired the starting gun for two years of high stakes brinkmanship.
Mrs May revealed Brexit means leaving the Single Market and taking control of our borders – but that we could still pay into EU budget
And she has ruled out any sort of "partial membership" of the EU once we complete Brexit, and said Parliament will get a final vote on any deal
