Tributes to wife and cop with 'infectious smile' who died in her husband's arms on holiday | The Sun

TRIBUTES have been paid to a cop who died suddenly in her husband's arms while on holiday.

Julie-Anne Forkasiewicz, 53, told her husband Peter she had been feeling unwell while on holidays Cumbria – going to go lie down.

A few hours later, Peter checked in on her – finding his wife of 29 years lying on a couch drained of energy.

The couple then fell asleep in each other's arms while watching TV before Julie woke Peter up about 2.30am on June 26, telling him she was struggling to breathe.

She then passed out – tragically being pronounced dead by ambulance crews an hour later.

Paying tribute to his wife, Peter said she had " an infectious smile and a great sense of humour".

He said: "There was nothing she wouldn’t do for me and it was never too much trouble."

Julie had served as a cop for over two decades and had been married to her husband Peter for 29 years.

While she suffered from type two diabetes, causing her health to decline over the last few years, no cause of death has yet been revealed.

The couple were regular travelers, who enjoyed several trips abroad together including a cruise to America and another cruise to the Gulf of Mexico.

Julie, from Accrington, had worked in a car part factory before joining the police force, mainly in a firearms unit for the Ministry of Defence.

She achieved the role through top marks in long-range target practice in training.
