A violent lunatic with a history of attacking children flipped over a pram in a New York City street, leaving a two-year-old girl terrified and with a face covered in bruises and needing stitches.
In an unprovoked attack in Flushing, Christopher Elder, 31 from Queens, flipped over the pram containing toddler Sophia, after allegedly screaming at Sophia's grandmother, Maria Zamora, 48, who was out on a walk with her granddaughter.
Ms Zamora, who does not speak English, was throwing garbage out when Elder overturned the pram in the middle of the street.
The twisted incident took place on Friday (March 11) and left little Sophia with cuts and bruises over her face after being tossed out of her pram and flung onto the street. She was taken to Flushing Hospital Medical Center where she received five stitches, reports the New York Post.
Speaking about the attack, Sophia's grandmother told NBC New York: "I looked and my baby fall down."
Sophia's uncle, Juan Loja, told NBC New York that the attack has left the toddler scared and in pain.
The family are now living in fear, as they have seen Elder around the neighborhood before and a resident in their apartment building has a protection order against the sicko. Yet this protection order hasn't stopped Elder from lurking about.
Police arrested Elder and charged him with felony assault, reckless endangerment, acting in a manner dangerous to a child and harassment after taking him to a hospital for a psych evaluation.

Elder's long rap sheet includes at least eight prior assaults, and the crazed assailant has as history of making unprovoked attacks on strangers too, including allegedly hitting a 30-year-old man in the head with a glass bottle.
It's also the second time in four months Elder has been accused of assaulting a child.
The New York Post reports that in December, the maniac allegedly attacked a 36-year-old mom and her nine-year-old daughter, also in Flushing, punching both of them in the head. Elder was subsequently arrested on assault and harassment charges.
New York is currently experiencing a crime wave, reports The Daily Mail, with figures showing 9,138 incidents in February, compared to 5,759 for the same period in 2021.
