A second and third teenage boy have been arrested in connection with an Aurora High School shooting on Friday that sent three students to the hospital.
Aurora Police had already arrested one suspect Friday night; the other two were arrested Sunday. All three people arrested are 16-year-old boys, police said.
Officials said they will not release the names of the young men because they are juveniles. All three are being held on the charge of attempted first-degree murder and their cases are being prosecuted by the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
Two of the injured kids are Hinkley students, and the third attends APS Avenues, Aurora Police Chief Vanessa Wilson said Friday. Police do not believe any of the injuries to be life-threatening.
The Friday shooting stemmed from a fight, police said. It was the second shooting involving high school kids in Aurora in several days. Last Monday, a drive-by shooting wounded six teens near Aurora Central High School.
Investigators say they believe that there are more involved in the Friday shooting. They ask tips be sent to Metro Denver Crime Stoppers, where they can earn a reward up to $2,000.
