However, snow is not the only weather warning expected as the Met Office has issued an amber wind warning as some areas are expecting strong gales that may reach 75mph. Storm Arwen will bring in high winds across the country, giving northeast Scotland and England an amber wind warning along with wider yellow warnings across the nation.
The amber warning will run from 3pm on Friday to 9am on Saturday, with the strongest winds expected in coastal locations, where winds of 75mph may be experienced in some areas, the Met Office has warned.
However, Storm Arwen isn’t only bringing in high winds and disruptive gales as the high ground of Scotland and northern England has been issued with a yellow snow warning which will be in place all Friday.
This arctic blast is bringing in a chilled couple of days with potential “hazardous” travel.
AccuWeather meteorologist James Andrews told Express.co.uk: “The wintry blast is still on target to unfold.

“The most widely felt aspects for UK residents will be the chilling, strong winds with potential hazards, as well as showery outbreaks.“
However, the meteorologist warned many areas will see snowfall for the first time this season.
“Snow will be seen mainly over highlands and uplands of Scotland on Friday. Highest snowfall over the Scottish Highlands can reach 6-12 inches (15-30 cm), though most falls will be less.
“As the cold tightens its grip southward, outbreaks of snow will reach the Pennines to the Peak District Friday night to early Saturday.

“At least several centimeters of snow can fall here.
“Travel over any aforesaid high ground can be hazardous with snowy or icy road decks.”
Met Office Principal Meteorologist Dan Suri warned the incoming storm will especially affect the northeast on Friday.
He said: “Storm Arwen is associated with a deep low pressure system that will impact the northeast in particular from Friday, but will also bring wider impacts to the UK with high winds, rain and some snow probable over the high ground.
“Storm Arwen’s impacts are mainly associated with high winds as the storm sinks southwards and will widely bring gusts of up to 65mph in coastal areas, although slightly stronger in the northeast, with in excess of 75mph possible in exposed locations.”
Storm Arwen is expected to shift away into the continent later on Saturday, leaving a drier day for many on Sunday.
Despite this, there will likely be some lingering showers over the eastern coasts of England and Scotland.
