A wife is accused of having secret affair with her husband’s alleged killer before urging him to conceal evidence.
Jennifer Lynne Faith, 48, was arrested after it emerged she was communicating with the alleged killer of her husband, James Faith, while publicly claiming she was “desperate” for answers.
She has been charged with obstruction of justice, Acting U.S. Attorney Prerak Shah said.
Special Agent in Charge of the Dallas, Texas, investigation, said detectives suspected Faith of "hiding something" and claim to have exposed her "darkest secrets".
This included a “a full-blown emotional affair" with Darrin Ruben Lopez, the man accused of murdering James.
Analysis of Lopez’s phone, which was seized in a January 11 raid, allegedly found incriminating text messages between Faith and the alleged killer.
Faith is also accused of updating Lopez on her efforts to secure her husband’s life insurance policy, as well as instructing him to destroy evidence on a truck identified at the scene.
On December 3, Faith allegedly text Lopez "in a little bit of a panic" and said "something is eating away" at her.
Witnesses had reported seeing a truck with a T decal on the back leaving the scene of the crime on the day of the murder.

Faith wrote: "So I woke up in a little bit of a panic… something is eating away at me telling me you need to take the sticker out of the back window of the truck.
"I have a bad feeling and I really think you need to get that sticker off ASAP….like today."
Lopez initially said he couldn't peel it off all at once as the "girls would notice," but admitted he had been "working on it."
He later said: "Sticker done."
