Woman furious as KFC turns her down for 'not having enough experience' – despite having worked there for 2 years

A WOMAN was left furious after KFC turned her down for "not having enough experience" – even though she worked there for two years.

Sophie Corcoran shared the letter littered with chicken-themed puns after she was refused a job at a KFC franchise in Durham.

The chain claimed Sophie's skills "aren't the secret recipe" – in reference to the notorious secret spice mix used in the chicken batter.

But Sophie blasted KFC for their decision, writing: "I can’t even get a job in KFC up in Durham because 'I don't have experience' despite f****** working at KFC for two and a half years.

"I give up with Durham. I want to move back home now I just want my life back."

The letter – titled "Team member application at Thinford KFC" – reads: "Hi Sophie, thank you for your application to Team KFC.

"We're cluckin' delighted you're keen to join our flock, however at this moment in time your skills aren't the secret recipe the Colonel is looking for.

"But we'd love to hear from you again when you have some more experience under your wing, so please give us a cluck if you would like to apply in the future.

"Best wishes, Team KFC."

Furious Twitter users were quick to back Sophie up, with many blasting the letter writer for their pun choice.

Dani DeWilde wrote: "What a disrespectful response to an applicant! Applying for employment is not a lark.

"And, no, that is not an avian joke. Dear KFC, please treat the applicants who want to work for you with respect and dignity.

Another commenter added: "Keep trying Sophie. Appalling reply from KFC, zero professionalism, so I think you've had a lucky escape."

Someone else added: "I'm more shocked by the bad puns, sure use them when you are offering someone a job, but in a rejection letter?"

KFC has been contacted for comment.
