Woman posing as goddess faces 50 charges, including 5 that saw devotees eat poo

A woman has been hit with 50 charges after claiming to be the incarnation of an Indian goddess with 50 charges, including forcing devotees to eat human faeces as punishment.

Woo May Hoe, 52, was slapped with 40 additional charges in court on Thursday (October 6) by Singaporean prosecutors, including cheating and causing grievous hurt.

Woo was first hit with 10 charges in October 2020 and has been held in remand since that date, is accused of preying on 14 people over a eight-year span from 2012 to 2020.

According to Today Online, prosecutors have accused her of various offenses, including forcing five devotees to consume human faeces.

Court documents seen by Today Online say that Woo has also been accused of physically abusing a 43-year-old woman by allegedly stabbing the woman's forearm with a pair of scissors and using pliers to pull out one of the woman's teeth.

Woo also allegedly defrauded several people of millions of Singaporean dollars by scamming them into gifting her money to purchase cows.

Woo reportedly claimed that the donations would help improve her victims' medical issues.

Today Online reported that one of Woo's unfortunate victims was a woman who gave her 350,000 Singaporean dollars (£220,000) in 2012 to supposedly buy the animals.

By allegedly telling the woman she was building a temple in India, prosecutors say the woman gave Woo a further 2.5million Singaporean dollars (£1.5m) between 2013 and 2015.
