The board of World Wrestling Entertainment has launched an investigation into a $3 million hush-money settlement over an alleged affair, according to reports.

The Wall Street Journal has revealed that CEO Vince McMahon paid his alleged mistress, who was a departing employee, to keep her quiet.

According to the newspaper, the agreement aims to prevent the worker from discussing their relationship and was made in January.

It is believed the woman, who was a paralegal at the company, is also unable to make critical statements about McMahon.

A spokesperson for WWE told the publication that the company is cooperating with the board’s investigation.

They added that the relationship between the pair was consensual.

The 76-year-old is married to Linda McMahon, who served as CEO of WWE, as well as a Small Business Administration chief in the administration of Donald Trump.
