Her Real Name Is Not Grimes
It’s Claire Boucher! Somewhat hilariously, she came up with the name Grimes after listing “grime music” for all three of her musical interests on MySpace. “On myspace ur genre could be grime and u could have 3 genres so i was plural grime, b4 knowing what grime was,” she said in a since-deleted tweet. “I was originally too embarrassed of this story so i told journalists i was named after frank grimes.”
