Adele has reportedly reached a divorce settlement with her ex-husband Simon Konecki.
According to People, the singer and her estranged partner filed a judgement packet in court in Los Angeles on Friday.
The document has not yet been signed by a judge to officially dissolve the former couple’s marriage.
This comes almost two years after Adele and Simon – who share eight-year-old son Angelo – announced their split after seven years together in April 2019.
At the time, a rep for the Someone Like You singer said: ‘Adele and her partner have separated. They are committed to raising their son together lovingly.
‘As always they ask for privacy. There will be no further comment.’
Adele and Simon, who is 14 years her senior, first met in 2011, and welcomed their son in October 2012.
Speaking about her charity entrepreneur beau in Vanity Fair in 2016, Adele said: ‘I have no desire to be with anyone in show business because we all have egos. He’s not threatened by any stage of my life that I’m going for, and that’s an amazing thing. It’s the most serious relationship I’ve ever been in.’
Saying that previous men she dated were ‘insecure’ and couldn’t handle her fame, she added: ‘Simon is already who he is. I’m still becoming who I’m going to be. He’s confident. He’s perfect.’
The following year, rumours began circulating that Adele and Simon were married after they were pictured wearing matching bands, and the singer confirmed the news by referring to New York-born Simon as her ‘husband’.
Five months after they confirmed their break-up, Adele filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences, and requested joint custody of their son.
Staying true to their statement, the pair have been co-parenting Angelo and reportedly live across the street from each other in Los Angeles to make things easier during the pandemic.
A source told People last year: ‘They are doing what’s best for Angelo. Her son is her world.’
2021 is expected to be a big year for Adele, with her much anticipated fourth album expected to be released.
If the elusive album is released, it will come six years after her last, 25, which produced the hit singles Hello and Send My Love (To Your New Lover).
This weekend marks the 10th anniversary of 21, which is the biggest selling album of the 21st century so far and has soundtracked a million crying sessions.
