TV presenter Alex Scott, 35, has opened up about taking part in the BBC favourite dance competition two years ago. The former professional footballer finally addressed rumours that had been swirling since she was voted off the show in the quarter-finals, going up against comedian Chris Ramsey, 34, in musicals week.

The football pundit spoke candidly about her time on the show and addressed rumours that involved dance partner Neil Jones, 38, and now ex Strictly pro Kevin Clifton, 38.
At the time claims began to swirl that she was in favour of ditching Neil for her stand-in dancer partner Kevin, after the former suffered an injury.
In a new chat with Fabulous magazine, Alex addressed the claims.
She said: “It was absolutely untrue.
During the 2019 series, the former football pro hit the headlines after it was claimed she “kicked off” at her dance partner Neil.
After Neil missed two live shows due to injury, Alex was partnered with stand in Kevin.
According to The Sun, she requested to continue dancing with Kevin but was denied. A claim she has denied.
A source said: “Alex was fuming. She made it clear she wanted to continue with Kevin”.
“She was unable to devote her energies entirely to either Kevin or Neil because no one would tell her who she was going to be paired with this weekend.”
The source added that Alex “snapped slightly” after her request was turned down.
On his self-titled podcast The Kevin Clifton Show, the professional dancer revealed how Alex had to practice her routine with both her original dancer partner Neil and himself as the former was injured.
Speaking about the situation, Kevin said: “I remember there was a certain situation where I had to step in and dance with Alex when Neil was injured.

“Neil was doing his runs and practising, and I was sat by waiting to be on standby, just in case Neil still couldn’t dance.”
He said: “Alex, for her, it was quite difficult because she was practising half the week with me, half the week with Neil, we both dance differently”.
Kevin continued to recall: “She was like, ‘OK, OK’ I think something went wrong or something in one of the runs she did with Neil.”
“She said, ‘I feel like I don’t want to let Neil down. He’s working hard to get back from his injury and I don’t want to let him down.'”
Kevin, who won the 2018 show with now-girlfriend Stacey Dooley, added: “Then the next day, there was this big story in the newspaper that said Alex had kicked off.”
Just days ago Alex also spoke out about being targeted by trolls, after it was incorrectly claimed she was replacing Sue Barker as host of A Question Of Sport.
The presenter revealed: “To this day, I still have no idea where that story came from.”
Alex went on to confirm she hadn’t spoken to the BBC about the job, while branding Sue, 64, “an icon”.
