Alison Hammond exudes glamour at The Ethnicity Awards

EXCLUSIVE ‘There is someone special, and if he wants to pop the question – he can!’ Alison Hammond reveals she’s ready for marriage with secret boyfriend as Host of the Year joins Johannes Radebe and Sinitta at The Ethnicity Awards

Alison Hammond has confirmed she’s finally ready to exchange vows with her secret boyfriend, more than two years after embarking on a relationship away from the public eye.

The in-demand This Morning presenter admitted she was open to a marriage proposal while leading the red carpet glamour at London’s Marriott Grosvenor Square ahead of The Ethnicity Awards in partnership with Metro.co.uk on Thursday evening.

Alison, 47, wore a glimmering gown emblazoned with black and gold diamanté encrusting as she rubbed shoulders with guests including Strictly Come Dancing professional Johannes Radebe and singer Sinitta.

The ceremony, hosted by Loose Women star and comedian Judi Love, took place against the backdrop of a tumultuous year in the UK which has featured serious race storms, hate crimes and incidents of discrimination.

Celebrities and public figures, recognised as advocates who are working to progress equality, were honoured with accolades – notably Alison, who was named Host Of The Year.

Discussing her love life with MailOnline, she said: ‘There is someone special, and if he wants to pop the question, he can pop away.’

Despite featuring on the winner’s list just days after claiming her first National Television Awards with daytime magazine show This Morning, the presenter – a former cinema usher – admits she still struggles to acknowledge her own fame.

She said: ‘I still don’t think I’ve made it. I’m so proud. I am so proud. But I’ve been proud of all my life. Like, I’ve not ever felt like not proud. I always feel proud of the stuff that I’m doing. I’ve never been disappointed in anything that I’ve done.

‘But it’s good though, isn’t it? Because you just want to keep going, and it depends what I see as having made it. Maybe I see it as being married, but I’m not married yet, so maybe I haven’t made it yet.’

Congratulations in order…! Alison scooped up the Host Of The Year award, beaming proudly with her trophy following the win
