Amanda captioned her post: ‘Phoenix, Julian and I just wanted to say the most incredible THANK YOU to everyone for your gorgeous messages we are so overwhelmed and feeling the love.

‘It’s hard to reply to everyone on zero sleep but please know we’ve read every single one and have shed many happy tears reading them.’

In a second post, she added: Our first beach walk as a family of three. During pregnancy I would walk this beach everyday telling Phoenix how much he was going to love it, and now he has had his first proper listen of the waves crashing.

It’s been over a week since I’ve taken off my PJs, washed my hair, emerged from my disposable pants, used bucket loads of Lanisoh or slept more than 2 hours a night and I am beyond grateful for every single one of these things.

‘The emotional rollercoaster that comes with being a first time mummy, is one I am truly grateful for and wouldn’t change for the world.’

Last week Amanda shared the unexpected news that she had become a mother for the first time, as she shared a picture of her son’s tiny hand on Instagram.

She wrote: ‘And then there was you. I’m so overjoyed, full of love and bursting with happiness to be able to share with you that @julianokines and I have welcomed our incredible son, Phoenix Blaze Byram Okines into the big wide, wonderful world…

‘What a privilege that he entrusted us to nurture and guide his little soul through the endless possibilities of life and we are eternally grateful to him for choosing us to be his parents. Our fertility journey has been long…

‘Our fertility journey has been long and we know only too well the heartbreak of the hope that turned to hopelessness, the elation that turned to devastation and the strain putting this often-secretive journey before your job, your friends, and your life.

‘Overjoyed’: The star posted a snap of her baby boy’s tiny hand while detailing herself and her husband Julian’s long journey to become parents

‘I know many brave parents-in-waiting who, like us, have struggled for a long time, so today we share this magical news in the hope it can inspire and offer a light at the end of the tunnel…

‘You are powerful warriors, I know your pain, and I see you. We send you all the strength you need to tackle your journeys…

‘Now that he is finally here, we realise we have never been more ready or felt more mentally, physically, and emotionally equipped to be his mummy and daddy.

‘My heart bursts with love for you… you have been my solid rock over these years, encouraging me to hang in and keep going….

‘After every tear, every tumble, every heartache, your positivity made everything seem possible again. It’s thanks to you, your energy, and your enthusiasm, that we are all here together today…

‘We are so lucky to have you, and Phoenix is lucky to call you his Daddy, I know you are already his hero. We love you infinitely ❤️’ .

In her recent Instagram pictures, Amanda has been mainly snapped from the waist up or with her back to the camera – keeping her bump hidden.

Impassioned: She shared a lengthy caption about their fertility struggles

In 2015, she spoke about her fears over ‘leaving it too late to be a mum’.

She said at the time: ‘Look, I’m 42. And I never really wanted to go down that road until I was really, really sure I had met the right person…

‘I think there are choices you make as a woman, you can choose to do it by yourself, to do it with somebody even if you are not convinced they are the right person. Or you can wait for the right person and then maybe find it is too late…

‘We have been together a year-and-a-half. I’m fit, I’m healthy, there are no problems in that sense. So who knows? It’s in the hands of the gods.’

Last seen: Amanda was last seen on-screen on The Chase Celebrity special last month. It is unknown when the show was filmed

In 2016, she then told Diary: ‘I hope we have kids. I do. I always say you can’t really plan that kind of stuff, and even if you try, you can’t…

‘I have no idea what kind of mum I would be. I don’t think you can know that until you actually get into that situation. You always anticipate you will be one way and then you’ll be another way. I will have to wait and see.’

Five years before marrying Julian, Amanda came close to tying the knot with Asutralian rugby union player Craig McMullen.

On not going through with the relationship, she previously said to Hello! of her decision: ‘I felt such relief. It was one of the bravest things I’d ever done but I’d turned it on my head and seen it as a weakness.’
