Bake Off: The Professionals presenter Stacey Solomon is REPLACED on the show after just ONE series… with a Ted Lasso star nabbing the role
Stacey Solomon has been replaced as host on Bake Off: The Professionals after just one series, it was announced on Friday.
The official Twitter account for Great British Bake Off shared news that Ted Lasso star Ellie Taylor, 39, who appeared on last year’s Strictly, would step in to host alongside Liam Charles and judges Benoit Blin MCA and Cherish Finden.
Ellie plays Sassy in the award winning Apple TV hit and as well as her dancing shoes, she is a regular on the comedy panel show circuit with frequent appearances on 8 Out of 10 Cats, QI and Mock the Week.
The tweet reads: ‘From Ted Lasso to tiramisu – we’re delighted to welcome @EllieJaneTaylor as our new co-host on Bake Off: The Professionals alongside @LiamcBakes…

Bake Off: Professionals sees professional pastry chefs from top hotels, restaurants and small businesses compete to be named best patisserie team in Britain.
Following the announcement, Stacey revealed she had been replaced by Ellie after giving birth to her daughter Rose last year.
She wrote on Twitter: ‘So excited to watch this! @EllieJaneTaylor @BritishBakeOff it’s going to be amazing! Can’t believe I missed out on chocolate week and opted for giving birth instead’.
Stacey launched her career on The X Factor, finishing third in season 6 in 2009. She was also crowned queen of the I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! jungle in 2010 and has since presented I’m A Celebrity: Extra Camp and become a panellist on ITV’s Loose Women.
Stacey, 33, took over from long-time host Tom Allen last year, when the comedian stepped down after three years as a presenter on the show.

Speaking about his exit at the time, Tom said: ‘I’ve had the best time co-hosting The Professionals down in Sussex with my wonderful friend Liam but now is the time to move on.

Ellie appeared on the charity celebrity version of GBBO earlier this year to raise money for Stand Up To Cancer.
